About Us
Finance Fight Club is on a mission to make CFO-level clarity accessible for small to mid-sized businesses ($1M–$30M in annual revenue). We help owners make smarter, faster financial decisions that give them back control of their time and margins. The company provides Fractional CFO services, financial strategy, forecasting, cash planning, and decision support so entrepreneurs can grow revenue, protect cash flow, and make smarter decisions. We roll-up our sleeves to help small business owners achieve their dreams. But we’re not workaholics either.

We Believe:

  • Finance isn’t rocket science — it’s leadership.

  • Business owners deserve clarity, confidence, and control over their numbers.

  • Strategy only works when clients truly understand their financial story.

How We Work:

  • We’re a fully remote team and meet once per week to build culture and rapport, otherwise we work async via Slack and Levvy; We’re a small business in the early phases of building our true team culture, how we work is still evolving.

  • We set goals using a Key Results Areas (KRA) framework to stay on track and measure individual success; We’re currently implementing an EOS system of quarterly goals; As a strategic finance team we also set and measure clear company KPIs in the same way we deliver for clients.

  • Our work is often independent with the occasional need for team collaboration; We strive to support each other when challenges arise or simply lean into someone else's expertise to exceed our client’s expectations.

  • We deliver as if a co-owner in our clients' businesses; We’re a casual bunch, but we take a client’s trust in us and our ability to add value seriously.

Role Overview
You're not just managing a portfolio of accounts — you're the person a business owner calls before they make a decision they can't take back. You will serve as the primary strategic finance advisor and fractional CFO for a portfolio of small and mid-sized business clients, building long-term, trust-based relationships grounded in sound judgment and business impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and guide clients through key decisions, including pricing, hiring, cash flow, growth investments, and financing (including SBA lending).

  • Manage client relationships end-to-end, including expectation-setting, ongoing communications, and recurring advisory calls.

  • Bring an owner’s mindset to every client interaction, integrating into leadership teams to align finance with long-term vision and moving beyond transactional advice to being an invested, key contributor.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members across our client’s organizations, including marketing, operations, legal, etc.

  • Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budget that clients use as real decision-making tools, not just historical reporting.

  • Analyze trends, margins, and cash flow to proactively surface risks and opportunities, translating data into confident, actionable guidance.

  • Outline cash obligations and upcoming commitments for clients.

  • Lead quarterly performance reviews, strategic planning conversations, and represent the finance function of a client’s business on board meetings.

  • Identify process and modeling efficiencies that let the firm scale advisory quality across a growing client base.

The Skills

  • 2+ years in a full-time or fractional finance leadership/CFO function.

  • 5+ years in financial consulting, M&A, SBA lending preferred.

  • 10+ years in financial analysis, modeling, and business finance.

  • Degree in finance preferred, not required.

  • Experience in accounting, controllership, and/or small business finance versus only large corporations.

  • Experience managing a P&L, balance sheet, and creating budgets.

  • Strong quantitative, budgeting, and modeling skills, with sound judgment when working from limited or incomplete data.

  • Experience supporting a small business through acquisition, or personal experience with SBA lending.

  • Experience with relevant platforms and reviewing monthly financials in Fathom, QuickBooks, or similar as part of regular client meetings and preparation.

This is a fit for those who offer:

  • Confidence to advise and coach high-achieving business owners and founders, with ability to hold them accountable to their goals and not shy away from tough conversations.

  • High emotional intelligence and client management skills; values relationships and clients deeply, acts as a true strategic partner—wants to help them win.

  • Innate curiosity and are unafraid to ask questions, test ideas, and continually build advisory skills hands-on.

  • Bring a proactive, resourceful, and autonomous approach to the work and team.

  • Excellent time management and prioritization, suited to a lean, growing firm.

  • Proficiency with emerging technology, but are grounded in human judgment and critical thinking.

  • Experience and comfortability with platforms like Slack, Zoom, and are eager to master new productivity and FP&A tools.

Who this won’t work for…

  • A corporate-only thinker or big-company operator (though large-company experience is still valued); if you haven’t run a small business or worked directly with business owners in prior roles, this environment may not be for you.

  • Ego-driven or dismissive of small business realities.

  • You prefer supporting one company/client instead of partnering with multiple business owners.

  • Hesitant or lacking confidence to appropriately advise clients through challenging scenarios, even with imperfect data.

  • You’re looking for a short-term gig vs. a long-term fit as part of a team.

  • You currently own or plan to build a CFO consulting or fractional practice.

    *English fluency required.
**Must be able to legally work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
